Welcome to Primary Steps in PE. We specialise in supporting schools and developing staff confidence in delivering PE, Sport and Physical Activity. Through our resources and support we aim to engage all stakeholders in physical activity and PE.
Introductions
Our resources are supplied by Owen Denovan of Primary Steps in PE. A former primary school teacher, Owen has spent the over 9 years working as a Primary PE specialist and has worked in schools across the country developing staff confidence and developing usable, effective resources for staff and schools to use to promote physical activity and deliver effective PE.
Our Services
We believe that the most effective way to increase activity is to increase the confidence of all stakeholders and we offer a wide range of CPD options for schools to increase the confidence and knowledge for staff and parents. Whether it's one off staff meetings, workshops, lesson modelling, online CPD or individual teacher training we can support you.

Teaching and Learning Support
Lesson modelling for all areas of the PE curriculum. Outstanding PE modelled effectively to help improve the confidence of teachers.
Curriculum Development
Working with schools to design their own curriculum to suit the needs of their children. We also demonstrate how Personal Development and Fundamental Skills can be incorporated into every lesson
Planning Support
Working with teachers to enable them to be more confident when writing or using lesson plans. Highlighting opportunities for assessment and adaptation.
Mock Deep Dives
Audit and whole school overview including lesson observations, children and staff interviews.
Subject Leader Development
One to one support for PE Leaders. Auditing, baseline subject review and action planning. Great for new coordinators!
Active Play
Sessions for all children in every class. Showing children new and exciting playground games to help keep active at play times
Active Hub Resources
The Active Hub allows teachers and parents access to a wide range of resources designed to promote physical activity throughout the day. Our interactive forum also provides a space where members can share their own great ideas.
